Nour Kamel is a writer, editor, baker and curator from Egypt working through the poetics of food, family, identity, community, oppression, language, queerness & gender. They believe in a free Palestine. Their writing appears in Mizna, World Literature Today, Sinister Wisdom, and fourteen poems, and their chapbook “Noon” is part of the New-Generation African Poets series. Kamel is the English copy-editor for The Legal Agenda, translation co-editor at ANMLY, and has guest-edited for ArabLit Quarterly and Rowayat. As part of Kusbarra Collective, Kamel organizes experimental collaborations, community writing & research projects that explore food, our bodies, ecologies, the land, heritage, and alternative knowledge systems. They have created and facilitated several writing workshops and subsequent publications, including “The Taste of Letters / طعم الحروف” and “Our Bodies Breathe Underwater / أجسادنا تتنفس تحت الماء” at the Contemporary Image Collective. Kusbarra Collective’s latest project, Mukawen, is an ode to social & cultural practices involved in cooking and hosting communally. In 2025, Kamel participated in the curatorial strand of Àsìkò Art School around the topic of “Holding Memory.”
