Sara Santistevan

Sara Santistevan is an emerging Latina poet and recipient of the 2021 Reyna Grande Scholarship for her first chapbook, The Root from which Freedom Blossoms. She has work published in Shō Poetry Journal, The Acentos Review, Querencia Press, F(r)iction, and elsewhere. Outside of her 9 to 5, Sara is a Junior Editor and occasional editorial writer with F(r)iction Literary Journal, member of the Santa Cruz Writers of Color and Círculo de poetas y writers, and avocational workshop leader. In her free time, Sara enjoys attending local writing groups, visiting cafes, and dreaming of the day she'll have her own cat.
