Lisa Chen

Lisa Chen is a Taiwanese American living on Duwamish Territory/Seattle, WA. She was born and raised in San Diego, CA, and has spent more than a decade deeply invested in shifting power alongside low-income communities of color. Recently, she was the Executive Director of FEEST, an organization dedicated to fostering radical joy for youth of color through organizing for health equity in South King County schools and building community through food. Previously, she spent years as a labor organizer and immigrant’s rights advocate in the Asian diaspora. After taking a hiatus from paid work, she finally conceded to her cravings to write the stories of her ancestors. She writes on themes of generational trauma, grief, healing, and food as living memories. This is her first published work. When Lisa is not writing, you can find her trying out new soup recipes, rock climbing, and attempting to have a green thumb despite years of evidence otherwise.
