Nyree Abrahamian

Nyree Abrahamian is a Canadian-Armenian poet and creative producer who lives in Yerevan. She produces Country of Dust, an award-winning narrative podcast about life in a changing Armenia, which has been featured in The Guardian, on CBC Radio, KQED and PRX. Her poems are published or forthcoming in Poet Lore, Mizna, Poetry Northwest, Beloit Poetry Journal and Protean Magazine, among others. Nyree co-founded the Tumanyan International Storytelling Festival and is co-author of Artsakh: A Taste of Home, a book of stories and recipes. She is a 2026 One World Media Fellow and a 2023 Creative Armenia Fellow. Prior to her work in storytelling, Nyree was an educational program designer and an instructor at the American University of Armenia. She holds an Ed.M. in International Education Policy from Harvard University, and applies her sensibilities as an educator to her creative work.
