Mahogany Nored

(he/they)
Mahogany is a poet, first and foremost, the Black, queer, trans, and masculine kind. He works with pleasure through language, food, and the body of the Black diaspora. With his main area of focus being that of the erotic and the sensual pertaining to fat, Black peoples of trans identity – and how feeding this relationship can facilitate healing of mind, body, and soul. Through language they create metaphysical worlds to explore this, whether that be through short form, long form, playwriting, and more. Through food, he shifts through ancestral techniques and palettes to nourish those who he cooks for. He cooks with the seasons. Seeking to regionalize historic recipes of the Black diaspora while integrating practices of those indigenous to Northern California where Mahogany currently resides.
