Mia Caruso

Mia Caruso has previously published pieces in The Mississippi Review, The Sonora Review, and New Millennium Writings, among others. She was the recipient of an Oregon Literary Arts Grant and is the winner of this year’s Rilla Askew Short Fiction prize. She lives in Oregon, where she teaches Japanese literature at Portland Community college. It is important to her to be an advocate for social justice, and she volunteers for the Returning Veterans Project. She has one extremely wonderful daughter and two extremely wonderful step kids who helped her write this bio!
