Rakhee Jain Desai

Rakhee Jain Desai is an artist based in Austin, Texas. Through her art, she strives to create dialogue about the immigrant identity, experience and assimilation. Her featured work utilizes the centuries-old, wax-resist textile technique, Batik. The combination of Batik, an Eastern craft, with traditionally Western mediums aptly communicates the migration of her South Asian identity.
